Steve Ostrowski July 2005 Steve sent me 3 versions of his bloodied leg to chose from.  Steve added, "My personal favorite of the 3 pictures is the one that captures the TRUE essence of hillbilly entertainment. That would be the one that shows not only my oozing wound, but also shows a can of cheap beer, the cheap cooler from which it came, AND a Big Diamond Raceway program. Can you say YEE HA? YEE HA!!!!!!!"

INJURY: While fighting with his brother his hand somehow hit a sharp piece of metal on the edge of a door
RESULT: V-shaped cut on thumb that required 4 stitches to close

INJURY: HIT IN THE EYE WITH A THROWN SOFTBALL
RESULT: BROKEN NOSE, A DEEP CUT AROUND THE EYE AND MUCH PAIN

INJURY: A GROUNDBALL TOOK A BAD BOUNCE AND CLUNKED
HIM SMACK IN THE MIDDLE OF HIS FOREHEAD
RESULT: BRUSHBURN AND BUMP RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF HIS HEAD

PETE GABRIELLI
INJURY: ONE-HOP LINE DRIVE PLAYING 3RD-BASE, SOFTBALL OFF HIS FACE
RESULT: BROKEN CHEEK-BONE
NOTE: This picture was taken a month after the injury when a majority of the swelling had reduced.

PETE GABRIELLI / PHIL COZGRAVE
INJURY: BLOOP HIT BETWEEN THE SECONDBASEMAN (PETE)
AND THE RIGHT-CENTERFIELDER (PHIL).  NEITHER OF THEM
WAS SURE IF THEY COULD GET IT UNTIL THEY WERE ABOUT 6"
APART AT WHICH POINT THEY BOTH THOUGHT THEY COULD CATCH IT.

RESULT: HEAD TO MOUTH COLLISION.  PHIL BROKE THREE TEETH
AND DIDN'T KNOW WHERE HE WAS AND WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL
IN AN AMBULANCE WITH SYMPTOMS OF A CONCUSION.  PETE NEEDED
MULTIPLE STITCHES IN HIS HEAD.  THEY REMOVED TWO OF PHIL'S TEETH
OUT OF PETE'S HEAD - ONE RIGHT AWAY AND ONE AT THE HOSPITAL!

NOTE: To the disappointment of all, no one had a camera.

SCOTT METCALFE
INJURY: POISON IVY
RESULT: MASSIVE WELT ON HIS LEG

INJURY: IMPACTED WISDOM TEETH
RESULT: 4 teeth pulled including 1 pulled into 3 pieces because it was growing in horizontally

INJURY: BASKETBALL INJURY, NO CONTACT WITH ANOTHER PLAYER
RESULT: SEVERLY SPRAINED LEFT ANKLE

STEVE STREMBA
INJURY: 1985, MY NEW PONTIAC SUNBIRD
VERSUS THEIR DODGE CARAVAN, HEAD ON, 55MPH.
RESULT: BOTH LOST.
ME: split lip..right up into my broken nose. Stitches inside and out and now I have a hole
where my lip meets my gum cause they couldn't get a stitch that close and my nose is crooked.
THEM: Driver - broken arm, stitches etc. His wife - both knees shattered, cuts. Their 2 children in car seats
unhurt..they work..use them. His fault - they were arguing in the van and he tried to make a turn,
crossed in front of me and I had no time to stop... WHAM..

RESULT: CUT OFF TIP OF FINGER INCLUDING PART OF FINGER-NAIL

INJURY: CAUSE UNKNOWN but it was probably from working too hard
RESULT: ROTATOR CUFF SURGERY and off from work for 3 months
