Highlights/Lowlights:
Stingers, who finished 1st during the regular season (23-5), ultimately won the tournament and did not lose a single game, beating E.R.Stuebner, Reinholds VFW, the West Lawn Owls and the Saloonatics.

The Saloonatics (T4th place in regular season, 19-9) finished second in dramatic fashion, however, by coming all the way up the loser's bracket and playing five games on Sunday (8:30, 10:30, 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30!), including three in a row to end the tournament.  In fact, they won the semi-final game with a 3-run home run in the 7th inning to win 13-11.  All totaled, the Saloonatics had to play EIGHT games.

****************

As for our team, we batted around in the top of the 1st of Game #1, scoring 8 runs in route to an easy 14-2 victory over The Sport Shop which was a scrub team at the time.  Pete Gabrielli was 2-for-3 with 2-run home run.

In Game #2 against the Owls, we had only 1 hit through the first 3 innings, putting us in a 7-0 hole through 3-1/2 innings which we could not recover.  Mike Murphy was 2-for-2 with a walk in the game.

Game #3 should have been a win against an Adamstown team that was only 11-17 during the regular season.  We jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first on 3 Adamstown errors, 2 singles and a sac-fly.  Through 4 innings we were up 5-1 and the game looked to be in hand, but the bats went cold again and we never put them away.  Adamstown scored 4 in the bottom of the 5th on a double, single, sac-fly, single, a single with a 2-base error, and another single; to tie the score at 5-all.  They scored 1 in the bottom of the 6th on an error, a walk, a single and a Sac-fly before a 1-4-3 double-play ended the inning.  We then tied the game at 6-all in the top of the 7th on a single by Capilo, a walk to Mike Murphy and an RBI single from Jeff Peterson.  Then in the bottom of the 7th, Adamstown led off with a safe-on-error, two singles to load the bases with nobody out, and a sac-fly to end the game.  A heartbreaker.
