11/01/03: "She was born Aug 25th, 2003. I'd been
thinking of getting a basset hound for Bob's birthday in early
September but there weren't any available. Then I sat down on
to have lunch and there was an ad in the paper for seven pups, and
when I called they had only one left. So I went to 'look' and
well. Her name is Wilamina
and we are calling her "Mina," pronounced "meena," for short. 'Mina
was Dracula's love interest and we got her the day before Halloween
so... Other names we considered were: Amber, Autumn, Cloe, Jabba the Pup (Bob's choice), Chewbacca
(another one of Bob's), Ogvorbis (Bob), Precious, Ellinore, Winifred, Pumpkin, Spider, Spooky.
The girls had no idea I got her. I brought her in under my
coat and when I dropped the coat, they were in shock! Lauren is
taking night duty, because she wants her to stay in her room at
night. We put her in the caldron to surprise Bob when he got home.
Belle is doing great with her, a new buddy. And Smokey is doing
really good. Nico on the other hand, the nice loving kitty has
been upstairs for 3 days and hisses and growls at her! Oh well it
will take a little while!" |
