Game Summary/Notes:
On an unseasonably cold May evening, Giovanna's/McDonald's played only their SECOND full 7-inning game of the season, but did extend their winning streak to 8 after losing the first game of the year.  Although Hahn stayed within striking distance all seven innings, The Pizza went ahead 2-0 in the bottom of the first on an RBI single by Steve Julian and a Sac-Fly by Chris Hunter, and never relinquished the lead ... Mike Capilo was on base all three times (2 singles and a walk) and has now reached base 23 out of 25 times (plus one Sac-Fly) for the year ... Pete Gabrielli pulled a muscle in his back making a throw in the top of the 4th inning, then pulled it even worse swinging in the bottom of the 4th.  He had to come out of the game.

Honorable Mention:
Jeff Tantum (2-for-3, RBI, run)
Dave Engle (2-for-4, his 2nd Home Run of the year, Safe-on-error, 3 RBI, 2 runs)

Game Summary/Notes:
A few people on the team were a little nervous when Giovanna's/McDonald's was only up 1-0 after 2 innings, and 4-1 after 4 innings, but another offensive outburst in the 5th and 6th innings blew the game wide open and ended it after six, highlighted by a pop-up Grand Slam by Mike Capilo in the 5th.  It was his second home run of the game and his team leading 5th of the year.  Mike popped up to second in his first at-bat, ending a streak of 13 consecutive hits.  Mike has now reached base 20 of 22 times this year plus one Sac-Fly ... Both of Central Fire Company's runs were unearned.  Chris Malinowski gave up only 7 hits in 6 innings.  He is even averaging over one strike-out per game.  Damn, that guy is good.

Honorable Mention:
Mike Capilo (3-for-3, lame double, SF, 2-RBI)
Tom Barzd (2-for-2 with an RBI in the 2 innings he played)

Game Summary/Notes:
Yet another annihilation, 3-0 after the 1st, 9-0 after the 2nd, 15-0 after the 3rd, 22-0 after the 4th.  Copperheads had only 3 hits in the first four innings before scoring 5 runs in the 5th as a result of 3 Pizza-errors ... Chris Malinowski wore white shorts for the first and last time ... Mike Capilo jumped early and often.  Speaking of Mike, take note that he is now 15-for-18 for the year.  What makes that even more impressive is that 2 of his 3 "outs" were not outs at all - he was safe on two errors.  That means that Mike has reached base 17 out of 18 times to the plate this year plus one sac-fly.  He carries a streak of 13 consecutive hits into the next game.

Game Summary:
Giovanna's opened with 7 in the top of the first, and 8 more in the top of the 2nd.  That was the second week in a row the Pizza-ah scored 14 or more in the first two innings.  The game only lasted 5 innings for the 5th time in 6 games ... Giovanna's used up all four of their home runs at ASB:  two from Tom Barzd (his 2nd and 3rd of the year), and one each from Dickie Delp (1st of the year) and Jeff Schaeffer (1st of the year) ... On Tuesday Pete Gabrielli snapped a 10-consecutive hit streak.  Mike Capilo is riding a 10-consecutive hit streak into the next game ... Eddie Key played his first game of the year and went 1-for-2.

Tom Barzd (2-for-4, 3-run HR in 1st inning)

Game Summary:
Five games into the season, and this was the first 7-inning game that Giovanna's has played.  It didn't look like it wasn't going to be from the start, however, as the Pizza-team batted around in each of the first two innings and led 14-2.  Unfortunately, Pizza would get only 8 hits and score only 2 runs in the last 5 innings, while Moyer's slowly crept back into the game ... Pete Gabrielli made an out in the 5th inning, ending a streak of 10 consecutive hits dating back to May 3rd:  Single, Single, RBI Single, Single, 2-run HR, Single, 2-run Single, RBI Single, 3-run HR, Single ... Dave Engle, who leads the team with a .750 average, also had 6 consecutive hits over the last 3 games before making an out in the 5th.

For the second straight game Giovanna's started out slow, winning only 3-1 after two innings, then exploded for 12 in the 3rd and 4th to end the game ... After losing 22-5 in the first game of the year, Giovanna's has now out-scored their opponents 42 to 2!!!!  Consider, for a moment, just how impressive that is.

A 3-run home run by Mike Capilo in the 3rd made the score 6-0 and essentially put the game away.  Giovanni's scoring was capped by yet another Capilo 3-run dong in the 4th inning when they scored seven to make the score 13-0.

Giovanna's led off the bottom of the first with walks from Engle and Hunter, and then a 1-out home run over the left-center field fence by Mike Capilo.  Giovanna's began the bottom of the 5th up 11-to-0.  Singles by Cressman and Malinowski set the stage for Dave Engle who promptly ended the game with a 3-run dong of his own.  Giovanna's scored in every inning: 3, 2, 4, 2 and 3 runs.  Sottosanti Lawn Care managed only 5 baserunners, 3 reaching on error.

Honorable Mention:
Mac Zeigler (2-for-3, run scored)

Game Summary:
Giovanna's was leading 2-0 after 1 inning, and was down only 4-3 after 3 innings, but Flanagan's broke it open in the top of the 5th with 15 hits (all of them singles except one triple and most of them bloops and seeing-eye ground balls) resulting in more 14 runs.  That was all she wrote.  On the bright side, Giovanna's made NO ERRORS the entire game.
